The government recently published its response to the consultation on proposals to reform the fees charged in the Immigration and Asylum Chamber of the First-tier Tribunal and Upper Tribunal.
The response, announced 15th September 2016, confirmed the government’s intention to increase the Tribunal fees for immigration and asylum cases which then came into force 10th October 2016.
The fees are now as follows:

Application for a decision on the papers | £80 | £490 |
Application for an oral hearing | £140 | £800 |
Application to the FTT for permission to appeal to the UT | Nil | £455 |
Upper Tribunal* | ||
Application to the UT for permission to appeal to UT | Nil | £350 |

The new fees only apply to appeals against a decision that was taken on or after 10th October 2016. If the appeal is made against a decision received before this date, it will be at the old cost.
