Tier 2 General visas in more detail
The organisation must hold a Sponsorship Licence. The job must pay the appropriate salary and meet the Tier 2 General criteria skills criteria.
Unless a Tier 2 Shortage Occupation or an exemption applies, you must prove you cannot find a suitable person from within the UK first (the resident labour market test).
If continuing to work for the same employer extend your Tier 2 General visa.
Changes of employment
Tier 2 General is specific to the job and organisation. Any changes may require a new application to be made.
Indefinite Leave to Remain (ILR)
Tier 2 General can lead to settlement after five years stay in the UK.
